The Altoona Area High School has produced many outstanding graduates during its rich history.   They have excelled in their chosen fields thanks in part to the quality education they received in Altoona schools.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards Program was conceived by the Altoona Area High School Alumni Council in 1999 as a way of honoring graduates who have achieved great things in their professions and communities.

The first awards were presented in October, 2000.   To be considered, a graduate must be nominated by an individual or a group like a class reunion committee.   A one-page nomination form must be accompanied by three letters of support and candidates resume or vita.

It is hoped that current Altoona High students will be inspired by the accomplishments of the award winners and begin their own journey to successful futures.

In the process of honoring these Distinguished Alumni, we celebrate the success of all graduates who have used their Altoona High education as a springboard for success.

Nominees will be evaluated and the Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented every three years. If you wish to nominate an outstanding graduate, complete the Distinguished Alumni Nomination Form. Questions? Contact Alumni Association Executive Director, at (814) 946-8424.
